ITEMS for THURSDAY
SWEET-WRAPPER Strawberry sweet wrapper, given out once in NCAD.
SERVIETTE
From train journey to see Lauren in Inismore August 2009.
BROCHURE
This is actually a map of Inismore, the largest of the Aran Islands
LONG LIST
Dated March 11 2009. A LONG LIST is a device I use to endorse myself for things I get done, on the premise that the more I do, the longer the list will grow. I find this a lot more satisfactory than crossing off items on a 'to do' list, where in fact I fail to notice the items crossed off, but only seem to see the tasks still to be done.
The Larder CARD AND INVOICE
Had Lunch with a friend here February 2009
ADS LIST
Some day I will do a proper analysis of what is actually advertised on television. Meantime, this is an example of how incoherent quick notes can be years after I make them.
PHONE NUMBER
Not at all sure whose number this is - could be the school on Inismore, but by no means certain.
PRICE LIST
These are the prices of data storage in 2006 as supplied by A4art, the shop where I even still buy art materials if I need them.
CALENDAR
A pocket calendar from our parish St Dominic's in Tallaght. The image is one of the new stained glass windows at the side of the main chapel.
PLASTIC BAG
The large plastic bag is a reminder of the Irish owned firm, ROCHES STORES, which closed down around 2007
ITEMS for FRIDAY
CHOCOLATE INGREDIENTSList of ingredients of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, in six different languages.
MILLION DOLLARS
Play money for $1,000,000 with small print asking the 'million dollar question' - Will you go to Heaven?
SERVIETTE
White serviette from Galway Hooker restaurant at Heuston Station where Tony and I had dinner August 25 2009 served by a jolly Italian chef.
CELLOPHANE WRAPPER
From Branbles, Date and Pecan cake, BB [best before] 18/03/09, think this was a snack I had with Mary.
GIFT-CARD
Christmas gift-card from my brother and his family. Cellotape adhering to card reminds me that they gave us very special biscuits - think they might have been called 'Amoretti'.
NEWS-CLIPPING
Item about a teacher from Ballycragh who was cycling to India to raise money to build a training centre in India.
MISSALETTE
This is dated May 10 2009, and is quite tatty, as if I had kept it folded in my pocket for some time. I probably kept it because it contains a lovely piece of Scripture from 1 John 3:18-24, all about LOVE
RED SERVIETTE
From a trip to Kilkenny with Tony and Laurence, June 18 2009. It includes the note that I ate a large delicious meringue.
NOTE
This note refers to being a DayHost to some SERVAS travellers , no year given, but we met them in CityWest Hotel.
BUSINESS CARD
From GOGGINS Taxi Service in Claremorris. Have no recollections of ever using this service, but may have picked up the card in the guest-house, in case I might need it later.
CAMERA CENTRE NOTE
The note from the Camera Centre has a girl's name, Kat on it. I was probably talking to her about buying a camcorder, or maybe about a tripod. I just have a vague memory of being in this shop.
NOTE
This other note has the address of a counselling service and the date Mar 19 2009, the feast of St Joseph.
ITEMS for SATURDAY
MORTGAGE AD
Ad full of promise, but with note that they wouldn't always give out loans.
HAND-TOWEL
This was obtained while we celebrated Tony's 57th birthday with lunch in the Saddle Room. However, even though there is a mat for a glass, and a leaflet, there is no serviette, so I didn't record what we ate.
LABEL
I bought two hession shopping bags for 2 Euros - this was great value.
TALLAGHT THEATRE
Programme and letter regarding show"Can't Pay, Won'T Pay" in July 2009. I don't remember attending this performance. Laurence would have still been with us - I wish I could remember.
BAGGAGE LABEL
I remember this label well. It came on a book I had bought from Amazon, I think it was a huge book on Matisse. It was delivered in a white woven bag, with this label attached. I also remember how excited I was, even before I opened the parcel, and that the book was all I had hoped for and more.
BROCHURE
I don't think we attended this event in Enniskerry, but it is a nice image of the Garden at Powerscourt. Maybe I picked up the brochure the day Laurence and I went there for a day trip on a lovely sunny day.
LEAFLET
This leaflet is about Carlow, but I don't think I have been there recently.
SERVIETTE
This little serviette is very 'continental' looking - not at all sure where I might have got it from.
CHOCOLATE IDENTITY
This sheet is from the chocolates that Laurence gave us when she came, and shows the variety of treats that we got to choose from.
NOTE
This note seems to be about elections, or candidates or something. I've no idea what I was trying to help myself to remember - it didn't work, whatever it was.
LEAFLET
Kilkenny is another place we went with Laurence, but I don't think we went to this night event.
LOYALTY CARD
Small loyalty card from Spar - if you buy enough sandwiches to fill all the spaces, you then get a free sandwich.
