Now it turns out, that I may not even get the notes written up on Tuesday, but that is really complicating things too much entirely....
Already it is THURSDAY and I haven't got them written up yet - but sadly, I have a reasonable excuse as I am attending my brother's obsequies over these days - he will be buried tomorrow Friday.
DIARY
This dairy dated 1954 originally belonged to my father. He didn't use it very much, but the pages at front and back are full of interesting information.
One date he did enter was July 1 1954. It was a very brief entry: Rush meter reading followed by some figures. When I saw this it brought back memories of one of the very few times we had a 'proper holiday', rather than staying with relatives or friends. We had a rented cottage in Rush, and he took the meter reading to be able to calculate the electricity we used. The other memory I have of that holiday is that it rained every day of that July, and was so miserable that none of us objected when we went home a few days before the end of the month.
The other thing the diary was used for was early music lessons which I gave members of the family - they soon went far beyond my ability to teach them, and some were self-taught.
PAMPHLET
This is about the Lisbon Treaty 2009 - I voted No, for the second time, but this time it was passed anyway.
FORM
Actually, I think this is a voting card
LEAFLET 1
This is for Fota wildlife Park 1991. We never did get to see it. Maybe next summer ... I think it was upgraded during the Celtic Tiger years.
LEAFLET 2
Retorno was a branch of Marriage Encounter, but much more low key. They had one or two meetings a year, and both Tony and I enjoyed them
PAGE 1
History of the Legion of Mary in China up to about 1954
LETTER
Invitation to a Parish social in 1991 signed by three priests.
PAGE2
A handout from the presentation on the elements of conflict given to Killinarden Family Resource Centre, probably during the 1990s.
TIMETABLE
This style of timetable was very useful as it grouped the buses serving one area together. It also included a map of the routes. It must be too expensive to do this now. The interesting thing about old timetables is finding out whether the service is more frequent or less frequent than it used to be years ago - I think this dates from the late 1980s.
