OLD POSTAL RATES

This being the week we will be sending out our Christmas letters, it is interesting to look at what the rates used to be back in around 1990. twenty years ago. It seems to me that the increases, even allowing for the change to Euros, are very small at only about double the rate they used to be.
HANDOUT
Another change besides the increase in the postal rates is that their brochures are a lot more stylish nowadays - though it probably isn't fair to compare, since this is only a photocopy.
SWEET PAPERS
These two sweet papers are from Cadbury's Roses chocolates. I was offered to help myself from a large box on two occasions on the same day at two different events. I am here recording my abstemiousness, despite the temptation to gorge myself.
NOTE
This note, dated last Monday, is a reminder list of the items I needed to deal with on my visit to town. It is nice to see that I dealt with everything. My need for lists like this increases as I consistently fill my brain with a lot of far more interesting thoughts.
LABEL
This is the label off a skirt I had to buy, also last Monday. The skirt I was wearing had an elastic waistband which I realized was 'failing' as I walked along. I bought the second skirt in Penney's in O'Connell Street, and put it on over the first skirt to hold it up. The new skirt was very filmy material, black with large pink roses, not very long, and not my style at all. Wonder will I ever wear it again.
