What I Threw Out Today

I began September 21 2010 - To record of some ephemera I had collected before disposing of them

Between Circa 1980 and 2011

Only two items to-night, but interesting just the same, I think:

The underneath page is a re-cycled sheet of computer print-out paper - at the approximate date of 1980,  computers were still a mystery to me, and looking at the reverse side of the sheet, I still haven't an idea what these figures might mean. But the paper was great for using in the Montessori School I was running at the time.

What you can see on the larger image (above) is a pencilled list of children's names on my waiting list. I find it fascinating to think of where they might be now, in their early thirties, perhaps some of them even have children of their own.
The figures (1) or (2) after the names refer to which of the two session of the class they were listed for - I had to have three sessions at one time, as there were so many applications for places. The figures at the side showing £35 was the annual fee - not many parents could afford to pay that much. How times have changed. (Well, after I had written all of this, I suddenly realized that I actually don't want to throw this out, so I am putting it into the 'rescued bag' - not sure what I will do with these, but so far there aren't so many of the items in it.)

The upper page is from last week, and is a list of alterations identified by my husband when he proof-read the first draft of a document I wrote about the ANGELOLOGY exhibition of work by Ilya and Emilia Kabakov in The Model Niland Gallery in Sligo.
I placed this over the other page so as not to identify the addresses of the children.
What a difference between the two phases of my life, thirty years apart. I had never heard of Kabakov, and he was living in Soviet Ukraine at the time.
Also, at that time, Child Protection was an unknown concept, as was the internet and blogging which is where I am writing this for.

Beidh an cúpla focail (The couple of words will be) an gearr (very short) anocht, (tonight) mar (because) tá me (I am) an tuirseach.(very tired).
'Sé glas (green is) an dath (the colour) i gcóir na hÉireann (for Ireland).
