Merger of THROW-OUT and MAKE-OVER

I must have meant to write something about about merging the projects. However, I have no idea what I was going to say - sorry about  that!
Tá mé [Iam] go h-an [very] gnóthach [busy] inniu [to-day] agus [and] tá a lán rudaí agam [I have a lot of things] chun caith amach[to be thrown out].

These items date from about 1985-6 and came to light when I opened Box 69 as part of clearing the remaining stuff from the front room.
Items shown are:
COVER
This is from the rent-book we kept for our tenant Bill who lived in our house 1973-1984.
NOTEBOOKS
Two more examples of house-hold notebooks. They give an idea of various aspects of how we ran our home, what we ate, etc.
LIBRARY TICKETS
Each book in the library had a small card which was inserted into the pocket of the ticket. Tickets were then filed in long narrow boxes, and given back to the owner when the book was returned safely. Now everything is done electronically, and I even got a receipt when I returned the books recently.
TASK LIST
This shows the initials of all the family, but seemingly only myself and my husband entered our details, and then only for one day!
I'm currently learning, somewhat late in the day, that 'other people are the outer environment. You cannot CONTROL them, you can only hope to influence them.' (Recovery principles)
*****
This is a collection of religious items which may have belonged to one of the family. It was all stored in the FRIDAY FAST BOX, issued in 1983 or shortly afterwards.
BOOKMARK
features Garfield the cat sliding on a rainbow
GRACE CARD
This went with the box which was a donation box and could be left on the family table. It features a simple prayer about being generous not selfish, espeically during Lent.
DECADE
There are also some marbles with the rosary decade, a shorter version of the Rosary beads which might have five decades. No doubt the marbles might have seemed more important at times than the beads.
PICTURE 1
A small showing red sunset and bare trees with Chinese writing. On the back is a handwritten message to Chi Shan - which I think is Betty Leung who came from Hong Kong and she must have given me this.
PICTURE 2
The small reproduction is of Christ knocking at the door with no handle which must be answered from the inside.
MEDAL
Two copies of the Knock medal show Our Lady on one side and the bascilica on the other.
'JEWEL'
This is a purple 'stone' possibly plastic, set in a metalic surround with a brooch pin fitting at the back.
LEAFLET 1
Prayer leaflet to Padre Pio (now a canonized saint). contains notes on his life, a novena to the Sacred Heart that he used to say, and a prayer for his beatification/canonization.
LEAFLET 2 WITH MEDAL
This leaflet is about the Green Scapular devotion. It contains accounts of a miracle and description of the scapular. It is promoted by the sisters of Charity in Nth William Street, and is dated 1968. The tiny medal which had adhered to the leaflet doesn't seem to have any connection with the leaflet. One side has St Patrick and the other side has St Brigid.
PRAYER
Small board titled A PRAYER OF FRIENDSHIP its by Bertha Evans it ends: Come to us in the breaking of the Bread, so that our friendship ay be kept ever beautiful in the Joy of Triume Own Presence Amen.
PEARL ROSARY
Not sure which of the children owned this rosary. It is in a little plastic box.
The last few items from the Friday Fast Box.
BLACK ROSARY
This belonged to someone - I wonder did they pray on the beads, and what did they pray for and did they get their request.
CHAIN
A very delicate chain - again, I cannot remember who wore this chain.
HOLY WATER
The container is shaped as Our Lady of Lourdes. All the Lourdes water has either dried up or been spilled. Actually, Lourdes water isn't really 'holy water' as it isn't blessed but who knows - the efficacy seems to be a combination of blessing from Heaven on the one hand, and the user's faith and devotion.
MAGUIRES OF FERMANAGH
Background paper - I found a link to the full version of this online It tells a story about what my early ancestors might have been like in the 1200's
