The iPATRIOT box in the title of this posting is just there for effect. It has not significance other than that it once contained my husband's first computer which he received as a gift from the family on the occasion of his 65th birthday in 1999.
NAGC, a British organization, were very helpful to parents in Ireland whose children were above average intelligence. They suggested lots of means of what they called 'side-ways expansion', in which a child could develop extra interests to occupy them in situations where they were not being fully challenged by their participation in the average school system. Eventually, parents in Ireland formed an organization called An Óige Tréitheach. These had a club on Saturdays called Explorers which gave opportunities to pursue various interests.
