Someone else's Throw Out

I saw this skip back in September, outside a building where I attend Recovery meetings. Even looking at the image after all these months, when the items are probably buried in some land-fill, make me sad again.

I think about the children who played with the doll, the teddy and the dog.
I wonder who they were, and where are they now?
Was this some of the equipment of a playroom where children waited while their parents were taken care of?

And look at the Santy, waving!
Did he stand in the doorway each year, welcoming people to this community building, Glenview Lodge, where volunteers provided a warm meal and company for young and old, with some and with limited abilities.

Now Glenview has been replaced with a new more secure premises, near Woodies DIY.
These shabby items wouldn't really fit, in the new place, hence the skip.
For me, its about my unwillingness to accept change. I love old things, and the memories connected with them. Put them in museums if you like, but not throw them in a skip!
