Today's selection - some items are on shiny paper, and reflect the flash. But I didn't want to draw back the curtains and show the world that I wasn't yet dressed, but was crazily taking pictures of what, let's face it', most people would call 'rubbish'.
I get letters as an artist from Fingal on a regular basis. Sometimes, I respond, sometimes I am excluded, not being born or resident in Fingal, but sometimes I attend events I would never otherwise have heard of.
I have filed this in the 'art related' box. I'm thinking, I may donate the contents of this box to NIVAL library. (or throw it in their trash-can if they don't want it.)
I couldn't make out at first how this got to be among the items for entering in the blog. It's a piece of junk mail, and I don't have a weight problem.
So it went straight into the WITOT box.
Recently, I gave some consideration to buying this computer as my Acer has been giving me some trouble.
But when the troubles subsided, I decided I wouldn't buy just yet. Actually, the idea of having to learn Windows 8 was enough to put me off. Interestingly, the name 'CRAZY PRICES' goes back a long way when it was the name of one of the evolutions of Quinsworth, an Irish supermarket that didn't survive. It was when I found this leaflet, and then several others that I realized what was happening. When the kitchen table was being cleared off, a whole pile of junk mail landed on my table. It is now in the WITOT box.
This piece refers to a political grouping known as Anti Austerity whose platform could be described as 'it's not fair'. I don't like the aggressive tone of their literature which is now electioneering for the bye-election which will take place in the next two weeks or so.
Finally there is a receipt for the contents of the Trocaire box. In fact there wasn't a lot in it, despite the fact that it sat on the work-top for several years.
I have a couple of Euros allocated from the budget each week to give to charity, and whoever gets my attention first gets a tiny donation.
There, that whole process took me about half an hour. I need to stop making a 'song and dance' about it, as if this was a heroic effort I am making. It will only be heroic when it's finished. Meantime, this is the 212th posting I have made in the four years since Sept 2010. Slowly, by slowly, as my friend would say. Actually, if this was a book with each posting a page, it would already be a respectable size!
