Look at the images while you are waiting for me to tell you what I think they are.
A small 'bunch' of items picked up in the garden, and displayed on the wrapper of my husband's favourite Rick Tea biscuits.A small item - no idea of what it is or where it is come from. Just like how it looks.
This is a fragment from a flower pot which was affected by the severe frost and snow a couple of years ago. There was a kind of skin on the pot with this pattern on it, and this skin detached from the pot in fragments. Looking at it again, I'm nearly sorry I threw it in the bin - but if I kept everything I like the look of, there would be no room for me in the house.
Fragment of green plastic - green is my favourite colour. Possibly came from one of the big green flower-pots that are in constant use.
Not sure what this is. First thought it might be a scrap of electric wire - earth wire is green and yellow, and a way of remembering this is to visualize buttercups and daisies in a field.
On the other hand, maybe it is part of a drinking straw.
Broken pencil - wonder was this dropped in the course of woodwork being done in the garden.
Thought this might be the handle of a cup, but not I'm not so sure.
Four fragments of cement/concrete
Decking screw - probably from the original version of the deck.
Three stones from the original pebble-dash, now entirely with the external insulation.
Scrap of gold-foil, possibly from someone's cigarette packaging. (No smokers in this house).
An artificial leaf - no idea where it came from.
Another piece of green plastic from an unknown source.
Scraps of transparent plastic, seems to be bio-degrading.
Yet more green plastic - I really do love green.
Could be bone fragment - but not sure.
This piece of green plastic is rigid - which makes it different from the others!
Fragment of green-painted timber - but can't remember what I ever painted green.
Fragment of laminated chip-board - strange how evenly it is broken.
This item is also green. I thought it might be from one of those kits that come with all the components in a kind of sheet. Now I'm not so sure.
More bio-degrading plastic.
A pen that I actually used to the end of its life. Somewhat unusual.
The BLUE CRATE: This is the most dramatic item in this posting.
In the small image to the right, you can see a covered item (green again!). Under the cover you have to imagine several boxes. They are filled with items remaining from when I had a Montessori pre-school.
(see here for the contents of the boxes). I had huge sentimental feelings about these things, and had hoped to find someone who might continue to use them. But I didn't organize it, and then lost the contact email. And life moved on.
Then I found someone with dyslexia. We had a delightful time going through the material, and they took everything, except what is in the Blue Crate. I was so delighted that I made that BIG DECISION and immediately photographed it, and then dumped it in the dustbin.
It's a Saturday.(Now it's Sunday and the rain didn't come till after dark)
They promise rain this afternoon.
That's when I plan to label these images, all dating to September 2012.
Meantime, if you are looking at them, bear in mind that I have been thinking about throwing things out over the past month, even if I haven't actually got around to doing so (apart from the last image of the items in the blue plastic crate - these have been binned - in the real rubbish bin, and that bin has been collected, so this image is all that remains of them!
Obviously, at some point I did label the images. All those weeks ago is a long time.
