Other People and TRASH

Tonight we talk about TRASH on the Sister Projects. Actually, you might be able to catch us on You Tube from 2030 GMT tonight.

A thought struck me as I went about photographing the mess that surrounds.
I suspect that a fair amount of TRASH originates in someone getting exasperated with the mess, and deciding to dump it all, unsorted.

I am thinking especially about the skip that was outside Glenview Lodge last night, with some very nice soft toys, and some pieces of oak flooring which certainly still have life left in them.

And, the other thought that strikes me is that principle of science: Matter cannot be destroyed, only changed. So when we throw something away, we change its relationship with ourselves (‘away’ means not here with me). What happens after that is mostly out of our control, though sometimes we reverse our decision, and ‘restore’ it into our space, somehow finding a new place to ‘store’ it!
