UPDATE and back to blogging?

It's nice to be able to see the floor of the work-room - and I must say, the shelves looks lovely. The top shelf is finished and now loaded with manila folders called transfer cases. However there are six cases for which there is no room, and I now am beginning to go through these to see what can be thrown out, and whatever is kept, where will I put it.
I was quite disheartened when I emptied out the first case. It was tightly packed with research materials from my thesis on Kabakov. No way was I willing to throw anything out.

What I wanted to do was to add perforations to a pile of the papers, and to include them in the large Lever-arch type file. This could make it possible to put it in place.

And when I did eventually find the perforator, I discovered (a) the loose pages were already perforated and
(b) there wasn't enough room in the folder to accommodate all the pages.

Very slow progress, but at least I did get the folder and the 'case' containing the extra pages on to the top shelf - but need to put some kind of temporary label on these items as already I am finding it difficult to recall from memory just what is stored in each.
THE SECOND TRANSFER CASE

This is the contents of the second case - and as can be seen below, it was a widely mixed bag.

These items are some of my personal writing - verses, a kind of autobiographical essay, and notes that led to an essay on ANGELOLOGY by Illya Kabakov from the exhibition at the Model Gallery in Sligo.

These are art publications from Ireland. Sadly, the CIRCA magazine is in trouble, and is now only available online.
There are really too many items in this image to see them properly. You can see a card and a letter, also part of a map of Europe with a list of countries - one time I was trying to memorize all those nations; There is a 'calendar' of what I hoped to do in Nov/Dec 2010, with the word SNOW in large letters, reminding me that I didn't leave the house during that period - snow is one of my least favourite part of nature to be close to, though I do love looking out of it from my warm house.
There is a small brochure about World Youth Day in Madrid, but it turned out that the grandchild I had in mind to sponsor was too young for this group. In the end, I just let the matter drop.
And there is an article about what the Pope said about New Media - I really have to get down to reading this!
In the bottom left corner, you can see the cover on the pin number notification from the bank. They say 'memorize and destroy', but my memory isn't that good, so I have to keep it safe instead.
The yellow post-card invites me to the Annual Mass for people who have done the Camino. I didn't attend - memories still a bit painful.
Finally there is a flier advertising the Set-dancing classes.

The next image shows cards and letters from relatives and friends on their travels.
Also there is a sketch and some notes about a dream which must have done its 'work' since I have now no recollection of it.

Shows the specs of two of my camcorders, alongside notes made as I try to come to grips with the complexities of the equipment. (Other people might not find it complicated, but I have to admit I do!)

Brochure and notes re other people's art exhibitions, some of which I probably attended.

Bag of Travel Notes from Frankfurt, and boarding card photocopies from trips taken as a student.

NCAD items including Student Elections, extra input for 4th years, and a copy of an essay about documentation of performance art.

More NCAD stuff - included labels for items left at porter's lodge for collection, two tutorial sheets, a bag from the cafe where i occasionally took lunch, the student handbook, and the 'FIRST AID for STRESS' poster that helped me to keep going at times.

Forms and photos from submission to RDS and to Claremorris )re Wrinkley's Playhouse), and a sky image from a tutorial.

Documentation brochure, and signs from Degree show, June 2010aaaaaaa

Assorted items - directions leaflets from BILLY shelving erected in workroom October 2011; Raffle tickets, possibly from Parish Christmas Dinner; backing paper off blutack, showing ideas for use, packet off rubber gloves which I use all the time, both at home and when working.
Finally there are three small items, the packing off a 3-pin plug, a yellow post-it used when dividing my book collection into similar sized piles, and a note about the measurement for the space where the new fridge-freezer (Bought last winter) was to fit.
