What I Threw Out Today

Another month - Let's start again

Actually, I have been very busy over the second half of September. With Joey's 'project management' there are now new shelves in the work-room, and all the books and folders have a new and more orderly home.
This is how it looked before we started. The image on the left shows the small white wardrobe and drawers that were full of both books and other items to be stored (eventually I will go through them, and possibly throw out a small amount of stuff, but as always, this is a task now on the 'long finger' yet again.
The image on the right shows the TA Shelves - items from and or about tansactional analysis. Badly needs tidying, but can't see myself throwing anything out. However, at the top of the shelves are red boxes of non-TA stuff - clearing them away will give a little more space.

These two pictures show the books on the front-room floor, to the left the books have been sorted according to size, to the right, the folders are standing up so I can measure how much shelf-space we are going to need.
Here, to the left you can see the empty wall where the new shelves will be built, and on the right are the timbers from the dismantled wardrobe and drawer-unit - YES, these did get thrown out!
The bigger image shows the new shelves in place. I think they look great. Of course, I haven't a clue where anything is. The books are sorted by size, and any semblance of categorizing is accidental.

The manila transfer cases contain a great deal of paper material, along with any amount of ephemeral stuff which is what I have to sort later.

I know the image above looks complete, but in fact careful scrutiny will show that only the three shelves on the right have the dividers that are needed to prevent the chipboard shelves from dipping under the weight of so much material.
So, as soon as the picture was taken, most of the books were removed and are now on the floor of the workroom. However, this is only for a day or so, and then some normality will return.

Meantime, I need to go searching for the images I thought I took of the home-made Montessori materials. The association has asked for images so they can make up their mind whether I can make a presentation at one of their meetings. If I can't find images I made previously, I will just have to do them again.
Unfortunately, the box containing the material was carefully wrapped in plastic and put under-cover in the garden while the front room is accommodating guests - and today, it is pouring rain - I do hope I find that I made originals!
