Stage One - the items are there in the bin, close by me, and I am 'allowed' (I allow myself!) to retrieve items if I think I have made a mistake in throwing them out.
Stage Two - when the close by bin is full, I pack the items into a plastic bag, put a label on it with that day's day, and move it to the Green C Box in the store-room, next to the work-room.
This system works very well - by the time six months have passed, I have no idea what is in the box, and if ever I did miss something, there is always the photo in this blog.
So, now to today's collection ....
Clockwise, left to right starting with the bottle bag;
Green patterned bottle-bag, given to me by my sister to carry a jar of her home-made pickle, a gift when I was leaving after helping her in her garden. I won't throw this bag out, but will put it with the lovely bag someone gave me at Christmas, to pass on to someone else of course. I found this video online today,
and I might as well include it - just because I happened to mention Christmas.
Wrapper off massage sponge. This is a new one, bought in Boots by my husband. Its a much better quality than the one it replaces, and therefore a lot more 'scratchy' - an effective tool for making my skin silky smooth - I hope!
The old sponge - actually this wasn't a massage sponge, and I only used it when travelling. However, I'm glad to be throwing it out as it wasn't much use.
Notes about plants - these are lists of plants I promised to give my sister. I really like the way our family shares plants, but of course combines them in very different ways, giving delightful similarities and differences in the different gardens.
Label off socks bought for me recently by my husband. When I saw them, my heart sank as I looked at the short 'leg' section, and visualized them working their way down under my heel. However, to my delight, this wasn't a problem, so now I have white socks with different coloured stripes at the top to match different outfits.
Set of Directions - I'm not quite sure for what, but I don't plan to throw them out, but will put them in the documentation box, 'in case I need them some day'.
Label off Gardening gloves - I packed these new gloves for myself the last visit I paid to help my sister in her garden. I'm very pleased with how hard-wearing they are turning out to be - I was doing some very rough work sorting stones and pebbles, and despite this, there is no sign of wear yet.
Note with name of director general of our national Television service - no idea why I jotted this down. Nor do I have any idea what connection he might have with paving stone sizes - I am assuming I needed the size in connection with the row of new paving stones we put under the front window after the external insulation was finished.
Next note is in my sister's writing, and came from some Essence of Myrrh which she brought me from Egypt a few years ago. The perfume was utterly delightful, and soothed me to sleep night after night until I had it all used up. My friend from Taiwan sent me a link for where to replace it online - must get around to this one of these days when the financial discomfort eases.
The piece of polystyrene is broken from a large piece on which a map of Ireland was pinned. Tony and I used to mark in all the places we visited using our free travel. There's another thing I want to get back to when I have my life a bit more organized.
Pink Note - I think this could also be connected with the insulation - Again when finance is a little easier, I plan to install a heat-exchanger in the vent in my work-room - it's a shame to think of all that computer-generated heat sailing out the vent to warm the streets of Tallaght!
TV Look-up - I've just realized that this is connected to the note about the head of RTE - it's actually a small notebook that I kept near where I sit to watch TV. The idea was to note down items of interest that I wanted to find out more about on the internet. Like lots of other good ideas, it didn't last very long. I'm just thinking that if I carried out all those little good ideas that I have from time to time, there actually wouldn't be time left in my day to do all the interesting things I want to do in the time I save by all the good ideas!
PS - Looking at the published version of today's posting, I think I will either give up the idea of 'composite photos', and go back to one image per item, or maybe I should stop trying to squeeze in so many items into one photo!
